An Introduction for the Taste Buds

Every society in the world has its own culture. In fact, societies are often defined and remembered by their traditions, beliefs, and value. In a nutshell, every society in the world has its own concept of the universe and way of life. However, the role of food  is identical in almost every society on earth. Food is a source of nourishment and energy for the human body. Yet, all cultures have their own traditions when it comes to meal time. In this blog, I will reintroduce traditional  recipes from different cultures and share a bit of knowledge about the culture behind the recipe.

I chose to write about cultural foods because I have always wanted to learn more about other cultures and experiment with different foods. As an American, I believe that our society has taken the focus away from healthy meals with the introduction of "fast food." It is my belief that if we return to our cultural roots at dinner time, then we will be more culturally aware and connected to the rest of the world. The first stop on our cultural cuisine tour will be Israel; we will be making Hamantashen. These classic Purim cookies are Jewish in origin. So, make a grocery run and get ready to start cooking!
